Product description

The Cajun Seasoning is a tasteful spice mixture from the southern cuisine of the USA, the so-called Cajun cuisine of Louisiana.

It is known for its hot, spicy note and also contains the typical ingredients paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper and oregano. It is rounded off with thyme and ground celery.

Cajun seasonings are commonly used in the preparation of seafood, poultry, and rice dishes. It gives dishes like jambalaya, gumbo and other Creole specialties their distinctive flavor.

When seasoned with Cajun seasoning, dishes get their characteristic red color and a hearty taste.

Fast marinade with the Cajun Seasoning

There is this simple dry marinade for those who decide at short notice:

Ingredients

  • meat
  • salt
  • Cajun Seasoning

Preparation

  1. Salt meat as desired.
  2. Rub Cajun Seasoning all over the meat until it is evenly coated.
  3. Let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  4. Grill it as you're used to or roast it in the oven at 165 - 170° C. Remember to not put the meat too close to the flame or in the oven too hot. Otherwise both fruit and palm sugar will burn easily.

Tip: Let the meat sit over night in the fridge for more taste. Bring to room temperature before cooking and salt it only then.

Easy BBQ Sauce

This is really a quick recipe for a delicious grill sauce:

Ingredients

 25 gCajun Seasoning
 200 mlketchup
 2 tbsp.soy sauce
 2 tbsp.melasses
 2 tsp.vinegar
  salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Simply mix all the ingredients in a bowl to make this quick BBQ sauce.
  2. If this barbecue sauce is too thick for you, you can thin it with a little water.
